Allegations Of Animal Abuse Pile Up For Owner Of Mobile Pet Salon In San Jose




Rachel Murphy has expressed concern about what happened to his 5-pound dog Toto last weekend. Rachel claims that a groomer taped Toto r’s mouth shut when it was bitten. This resulted in the dog looking bloody and being distressed.

Rachel told the story, "My puppy was in obvious distress. What I initially believed was a mask turned out be tape. Toto r's toenails were cut too close to his paws, which caused him to bite. His paws looked reddened and bruised.


Wow! My Dog is a mobile pet salon that employed the groomer who was responsible for these actions.

Rachel took Toto straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. In joining other individuals who have also made similar claims, he has accused Wow! My Dog of animal abuse. San Mateo’s office launched an investigation against the company due to possible animal cruelty.

Rachel described the wounds he noticed, saying: "I noted injuries around the joints, the neck, as well as in the genital. The cuts were so deep that they caused blood to flow."

Marianna De las Vegas - a Wow! My Dog client - posted a Yelp comment detailing how his pets had been returned to him unwell or injure. A Snapchat video captured by a customer showed a dog with obvious pain. He claimed that the groomer had forcedly inserted a towel into its ear.

Wow! My Dog also wants to make sure that customers are aware of the information the groomer gave him as someone who was trusted with the well-being of their pet. Rachel stated, "Juliann informed to me that the use of tape to close the mouth is acceptable and normal. He claims it is preferred to using a mute, which is harmful to dogs. He mentioned that he used the same method for his own dogs.

Gate News contacted Wow! My Dog who answered it but handed it off to a woman, here who informed her that she was investigating the allegations. But when Puppy was brought up, she said it was a different entity and ended the call abruptly.
